Doom 3 is scary!
I've got my hands on Doom 3. 10 days in advance of its official release here in the UK. I couldn't wait that long, and I've also pre-ordered the game from Amazon.
The frame rate wasn't as bad as I had expected, it's certainly playable on my poor GeForce 4MX; I'd guess I'm getting below 20 fps. And that was on the lowest detail setting too. There's a very dark and claustrophobic feel to the game, and a scariness that was reminiscent of an old Aliens (UK version) game on the Commodore 64.
Anyway, I think Doom 3 is probably going to serve as a good excuse to upgrade my graphics card.

Sounds neat man. I used to play on the C64 as a kid. Although I'm only 21, loved that psuedo computer all in one station :p.
Although I'm really looking forward to getting Half-Life. I wonder how Doom3 runs on a GeForce 4 Ti 4200 w/ latest driver sets. I dunno they say it should work. *shrugs.

I think I read on Neowin that some with a similar spec to you had a pretty good gaming experience with a Ti4200. At least, it will certainly be much better tham mine. :-)
I feel the same about Half-Life, it's looking very promising. I just hope they release the damn thing!
